I just love Big Daddy Weave’s song “My Story.” The lyrics are so encouraging. And as I battle metastatic stage 4 aggressive breast cancer, I am meditating on some of its powerful, life giving lyrics.
They are lifting me up on eagles wings.
“If I told you my story, you would hear HOPE, that wouldn’t let go..
If I told you my story, you would hear LOVE, that never gave up..
If I told you my story, you would hear VICTORY over the enemy…
OH to tell you my story is to tell of HIM.”
As I go forward, giving inspirational talks and telling my story, I can’t help but smile and wonder what God is up to. Surely it is something magnificent. God is not finished with me yet.
When things look bleak, thankfully, we can lean on God and trust in His great promises. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord; plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
If you find yourself walking through a trial, let go of fear and let God’s great plan take shape. Let His love, grace and mercy flood your soul. God will surely show you the way out. He uses everything for good; even cancer that somehow moved and settled into my lumbar spine/ pelvis — right before a world triathlon championship, and while on a whirlwind book tour.
Still, nothing can stop our powerful God. He has the final say. I will continue with my tour. In fact, just this week, I will be on a national radio show and then will be the keynote speaker in Greenwich, CT at a large gala function for the Greenwich Chaplaincy. I believe that God will take me far and wide so that my mission will be accomplished: helping all people, especially the broken-hearted, to know that they are loved with an unimaginable, Calvary love, that they are worthy, vital. And despite the great odds against it, I have a really strong belief that I will stand and race with my USA teammates in Cozumel, Mexico in September.
God can do anything. xo Karen
